she’ll be stored until a new home is found? I don’t think they’ll scrap her.

Maybe send it to Loon and make that the new Cabriolet lift? So if it does have a mechanical issue, not the end of the world.

I think it will go to either the Powdercrest real estate development at Big Sky or one of the Moonlight West lifts. They need a lift that’s 7200 ft long for Powdercrest and Six Shooter would be perfect for that.

It could be used to replace Double Runner at Sugarloaf, or Sunday River could use it for one of their planned upgrades.

In the linked video, Sugarloaf’s general manager stated that it will be sold. It’s one of these old Garaventas, so unclear how much interest there will be.

As per CEO Dave Rathbun, Purgatory’s new triple chair will re-use parts from the Plunge Lift at Telluride (a 1985 CTEC triple), and parts of the former Legends Lift at Purgatory (a 1985 Poma triple). It seems like the chairs from both lifts will be re-used, as well as some of the grips and towers. He also mentioned that the Plunge lift will be a part of the new Ice Creek (Lift 11) expansion on backside as well, with the lift constructed at around 1,100 feet in length.
After listening to the podcast, it seems like there’s a couple things left to be desired for the new Ice Creek expansion. Not sure about what everyone’s first impressions are, but having a new expansion that goes almost nowhere, while serving a plentiful amount of Intermediate terrain (that Purgatory already has) doesn’t exactly make sense. If it’s about a connection from Purgatory’s backside areas to the frontside, I can certainly see why that’s a talking point, as it would only be helpful for skiers leaving from the backside. It also seems like they want an easier egress from the beginner area to this secluded pod of trails, which explains why they want to replace Twilight with a gondola down the road. That being said, not running the lift to the top of Twilight in the current draft seems like a bit of a missed opportunity IMO.
