I really don’t buy that Alterra’s $300 million figure here is a CY2024 figure. It feels like their release includes a number of projects (like Mountain Commons at Crystal) that were announced in previous “total invested” press releases.
It doesn’t matter that much. But I think it should give some pause when comparing across ownership groups. It’s probably not apples-to-apples.

I skied Solitude pretty much every year from about 1998-2009 and I for some reason don’t remember Moonbeam ever being a quad. I remember as a kid wondering why it was called Moonbeam II, which I now know the Thiokol triple was the second chair in that alignment. I remember going there and seeing that they’d taken the “II” off the chair, but never put together that it was a new chair and a quad.
Solitude has made some lift choices that I definitely don’t love.

So, it looks like Deer Valley scrapped the idea of the 3 stage gondola with the third section connecting from the peak to Silver Lake?

As I understand it, it was never going to be a 3 stage gondola. The East Village gondola, which is being built next summer, will be 2 stages up to Park Peak. Then the plan is to replace Silver Lake Express with another 2 stage gondola, going from Snow Park, mid station in Silver Lake, and up to Park Peak. So it would be in total a 4 stage gondola when complete.

Yep, you’re right. My bad. I was thinking it was a 3 stage for the one coming up from the new base. I just searched and found the other plans.
