did not expect Doppelmayr to be the manufacturer for Glen Eden’s new ridge lift! its going to stand out amongst the two Poma (and Leitner Poma) alpha quad chairs they already have

I don’t expect this lawsuit against the conglomerates to go anywhere, but I actually think the case that they’re engaging in anticompetitive information sharing is probably a lot stronger than the case that Alterra and Vail constitute monopolies. Will be interesting to see whether this one gets tossed or if it gets taken more seriously.

Also, kudos to Snoqualmie for dropping Ikon reservations! That was a big issue that made it harder for me to get out this past season.

I personally believe It’s no different than what movie theater chains do. They match each others price for the most part, but compete against value. Who offers the most value and ease of access wins. I would say the smaller theaters that show independent films do charge half the price, but these films are also not shown in big theaters unless they hit gold (e.g. Napoleon Dynamite). A film with a budget of only $400,000 has made over $125,000,000 today. After its success, Fox Searchlight spent $200,000 to reshoot the ending.

Fascinating that presumably the Eaglecrest gondola ends up in classifieds on this website. Wild rollercoaster of a story!

I don’t know if this email takes replies, but I work for Proctor Ski Area and if you are interested we are currently taking bids from Doppelmayr and MND for a new T-bar.

Why no bid from Leitner Poma?

Is that closed urban Gondola in Madagascar one of the shortest lived lifts in recent time excluding Expo/Exhibition Gondolas, or special event Chairlifts like Timing Flats Express for the 2010 Olympic Games?
