Does anyone know which chairlift at park city the fall happened on?

The text makes me think Iron Mountain or one of the lifts in that area.

If it was a lift in the Iron Mountain area, it would have to be either Timberline or Iron Mountain because all the other chairlifts in that area are closed.

A friend of mine claims to have witnessed this from two chairs behind and called 911 themselves. Iron Mountain a little outside of the bottom terminal

What will happen to the CTEC quad at Kennywood? I assume it would be sold, as it probably still has much life left in it. Also, does anyone know what happened to the old Lake Compouce Skyride?

Yes, I believe all is safe with leaving Bridal Veil Falls the way it is and not adding another tram. (There was one there previously) Truth is, most locals don’t want it. And I don’t blame em. The tram would have been in addition to residential and commercial development and we are already crowded enough in Utah and don’t need anymore.

I miss the old high speed tripple chair up to the Schindlergrat. It was barely slower than the Gondola and so much nicer.

I am extremely disappointed that Kennywood is going to be getting rid of those rides. They are classics and very much loved and enjoyed.

I know there is no news article about this, but it has been very interesting to see how Vail and Alterra’s skier visitation strategies have played out. From what I have seen, Alterra has been a lot messier out west, with Winter Park being overwhelmed upon opening. Meanwhile, on the east coast, even with the huge snowfall allowing more terrain to open than normal, Vail’s Mount Snow & Okemo seem to have released too many spots or done something wrong, as they have at least appeared extremely busy and packed. Meanwhile, Alterra’s Stratton is right in between the two and has been extremely aggressive in opening the Sun Bowl base area to help spread people around and the mountain feels a lot less congested.

I have heard that Steamboat has had very short lift lines from people who work there. Maybe they released too many spots to people at winter park.

Winter Park did not require reservations until this weekend. They cited having less terrain open than usual for this time of year and combined with above-average crowds as the reason for the system. I could see them removing it once they get more snow and the place really opens up.

Crystal has been a bit of a mess with the parking lots completely filling some days despite the supposed capacity limits. To be fair, Chair 6 and Northway haven’t been open much yet and the summit was wind held one day I was there, which certainly didn’t help but the crowds seem roughly equivalent to last year’s mess.

Seems like Kelly Canyon should buy Kennywood Park’s quad.
